Still going strong after 100 years


Mollie Caudill celebrated her 100th birthday January 23 with a special window visit from her family at Letcher Manor. Mrs. Caudill is a lifelong resident of Thornton and the oldest member of First Baptist Church in Whitesburg. During her long life she has been everything from a motel clerk, bookkeeper, hospital worker, and even weighed coal at one point. She was also one of the famous “Rosie the Riveter” women during WWII in Detroit. As her favorite role of all has always been “Mamaw,” her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild say, “We love you, Mamaw!”They also praised Letcher Manor for “making her 100th birthday special!”
