An old-fashioned storytelling, sponsored by the Pine Mountain Trail Conference, will take place at 6 p.m., Oct. 28, at the top of Pound/Jenkins Mountain. Pam Halcomb, past president of the Kentucky Storytellers Association, will tell the story of the massacre of the Mullins family by Marshal ‘Doc’ Benton Taylor, known as the Red Fox, and the Fleming brothers on the 118th anniversary of Taylor’s hanging.
Parking is available at the junction of US 23 and Pottertown Road (VA 667). A shuttle will be provided to the trail-heard. The event is free but donations will be accepted. Those attending should bring a flashlight, blanket and chair.
