Trying to get my things moved from my West Virginia farm back to Kentucky has turned into a major undertaking.
I am racing against time and the elements, as it is staying around the 90-degree mark each day. Meanwhile, I am trying to help finish the Kids Days events for the year, ending with “Christmas in Our Hometown.” I believe I passed myself last week.
My Florida hunt is almost here (August 15), and the gators are waiting for me, according to my outfitter. Closer to home, squirrel season opens August 18. Please take a kid hunting.
Worth remembering: Raymond “Pap” Brown has cancelled his Youth Fishing Day this year because of health reasons. The next Kids Day will be on August 18 at Letcher School. It starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Everything is free, so come out and enjoy the day.
We are less that a month away form archery season opening. Do your pre-season scouting now; don’t wait until the last minute. Remember, you will get out of your hunt, what you put into it. Wait a minute, wasn’t that me that I just passed? Man am I busy right now.
