Before I forget, Raymond “Pap” Brown has ask me to remind Struttin’ Time readers that the Little Shepherd Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will have its annual Kids Fishing Day on August 24 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at Four-Star Village, just across the border in Knott County, off of Highway 15 N.
Everything is free for the kids, so bring them out to enjoy a day of fun, and fishing. For more information, contact Pap at 633-9548, or Will Connelly at 633-5012.
It is all about the kids, please remember that.
Well, we have almost logged another year together, you and I, and what a great one it has been. We have hunted the Osceola in Florida, the Eastern in Kentucky, and the Merriam in South Dakota. Got us a nice wild boar, and for the first time in a long time, we went fishing.
The miles and years are starting to show on your ole friend, but we will go as long as we have breath to do so. Sometime I don’t recognize myself in the mirror, but it is still fun and quitting is not an option.
Our regular “gator hunt” to Florida, which usually happens in August, is not happening this year. I don’t have the will power to go this year.
Catch you next week.
