Welcome to 2015, my friends and readers of Struttin’ Time.
Several readers have asked when Struttin’ Time would return. Well, here we are. And believe me, we have a fun-packed year ahead.
My friend Dwayne Blair contacted me about a wild boar hunt — he flung a cravin’ on me — so I booked myself a hunt on March 19 with my friends in San Mateo, Florida at God’s Country Outfitters. They have a fun hunt, and Struttin’ Time readers are invited to travel with me while we are there. We will hunt March 21 with my long time outfitter and friends at Watermelon Pond Plantation for the Crown Jewel in turkey hunting, the Osceola.
I am supposed to undergo a back operation in January, but if I do our season is over. So I have decided to put it on the back burner. We will be hunting Kansas and Wyoming both this year, if the “great spirit of the hunt” gives the blessing to do so. We will hunt both states twice, once this spring for turkey and again this fall for mule deer.
We have a fun year planned, so sit back, get yourself a Mountain Eagle, and forget the troubles of this world — if only just a little while — while you and I as friends travel into the swamps, plains, and Rocky Mountains.
I’m excited, and I hope you are also.
