Struttin’ Time:

Ed Collier: May 9, 1936 - June 7, 2019

Struttin’ Time and the hunting community have lost one of our finest. Our friend, Ed Collier, of Premium, crossed “The Silent River” on June 7 at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Ed, 83, was born on May 9, 1936. He was one of my “heroes”, and I sought his advice and enjoyed his company many times. Ed lived not far from me when I was at Dry Fork, and besides just being friends and neighbors, shared the love of hunting and beagles. Ed could tell you anything you wanted to know about rabbit hunting, and he loved to hear the beagles run.

From the hunting family, and from Struttin’ Time readers, this writer among them, we want to people of Letcher County to know we have lost one of our finest, and he will be missed. To his wife, Dorothy, and his sons and daughters, we want you to know we are truly sorry for your loss, and we will never forget our friend Ed Collier.

More people need to live like Ed. It would be a much better place.
