Successful fishing trip


Russell and Minerva Yonts and grandson Jake have all been on Cowan visiting. Russell, Duane and Jake went to Georgia for their fishing and camping vacation. Duane brought home the trophy fish again.

Jim and Helen Caudill and their family also visited Cowan. Their daughters Stephanie, with sons Nick, Braden and Jamison, and Debra, with daughter Candace and Jake Yonts, also visited their Aunt Virginia one afternoon. Congratulations to Candace and Jake, who both graduated from high school this year and will be going to college this fall.

Linda Combs wishes a happy birthday to Bennett Combs for June 16, and to Beverly Carroll Day Bolling of Spotsville, Va., on June 18. Beverly is the daughter of the late Bobby Carroll Day and Esta Cook Day Smith

Bennett and Linda Combs have a new greatgranddaughter, Addie Lynn Bolton, who was born June 7 to Steve and Christina Bolton of Berea. She weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. Linda and Brenda Boggs went to see her and other family last week.

Dustin and Jenna Crawford of Indianapolis came in to see their new niece, and Dustin was going to be in a friend’s wedding. Regina’s son, Robert Bennett Crawford, is leaving Thursday on a church mission to Romania. He has been to other places before.

Steve and Brenda Boggs’s son Shade graduated from LCCHS last week. Ramona and Callie Finchum, Regina and granddaughter Kyle and grandson Jacob came in also. Congratulations to all the graduates and may God bless them.

The family of Bernard and Minnie Vae Banks had their family reunion Memorial Day weekend at their farm in Pulaski County. Those present included Donald Banks, Whitesburg; Candi, Sam and Sarah Brashears, Kingsport, Tenn.; Linda Lucas, Whitesburg; Carol Caudill, Whitesburg; Patrick and Marilyn Banks, Edinburg, Ind.; Gwen, Chris and Mattie Handlon, Milton; John and Barbara Banks, Whitesburg; Rusty, Tori, Callie and Ella Akers, Talbot, Tenn.; Bryan and Tammy Banks, Whitesburg, and Randy Brown, Whitesburg. Everyone had a great time and ate too much.

Little Cowan Church had its Bible School June 6-10. A good time was had by both the children and adults. Friday the children had a program and picnic for their parents.

Marilyn Banks and Gwen and Mattie Handlon spent the week with Linda Lucas and attended Bible School. Sherrie, Bradley and Joseph Brown stayed with J. T. and Carol Caudill, and also attended Bible School.
