Summer school planned

Letcher County Public Schools will provide a tuition-free summer school for Letcher County high school students who have a failing grade in the following courses: English 1, English 2, English 3, English 4, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Transitional Math 1, Transitional Math 2, Pre-Cal, Integrated Social Studies, World Civilization, US History, Humanities, Physical Science 1, Physical Science 2, Biology, Earth Science, Health. Students may take up to two classes in order to make up credits.

Classes will be held at Letcher County Central High School beginning May 21 and ending June 15. Classes will begin at 8 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. Transportation will not be provided, however a free lunch and breakfast will be provided.

Registration will be held at Letcher County Central High School May 21 from 8 to 9 a.m. Contact a school guidance counselor for more information.
