Surveying workshops offered




Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College will offer three workshops for professional surveyors.

Right-of-Way Surveying will be held at the Whitesburg campus on Friday, Dec. 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. The workshop is approved by the Kentucky Registration Board for two contact hours of professional development. The seminar will provide an overview of the process of right-of-way/easement surveying for new acquisition, retracement and reversion rights.

Boundary Surveying will take place at the Whitesburg campus on Friday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. The workshop has been approved by the Kentucky Registration Board for two contact hours of professional development. The seminar will provide an overview of the process of conducting boundary surveys from client contact to completed plat and description with an emphasis on record research. The information to be presented and examined is based on minimum technical standards, surveyor’s code of conduct and various surveying texts and situations.

The Surveyor’s Duties to Unwritten Rights of Land Ownership will be held at the Whitesburg campus on Friday, Dec. 14, from 12:30 to 5 p.m. The session has been approved by the Kentucky Registration Board for four contact hours of professional development. The seminar will provide an overview of the principles of unwritten rights to land and the responsibility the surveyor has in the adverse rights process.
