Hello out there, all you seniors, citizens, that is. If you don’t have a regular place to attend, come on up to Boone Fork Senior Center. You won’t find a nicer, more friendly bunch of seniors anywhere in the county, and we will certainly make you feel welcome.
If you like to exercise, well we have a few exercise equipments to enjoy. Others really like to throw the beanbags and try to outdo each other by hitting the hole.
There is usually a Rook game after enjoying a delicious lunch, which by the way is good, plus nutritious. Our ladies who prepare the meals are great cooks.
Several senior ladies bring home-baked cakes for us to enjoy with a morning cup of coffee while we talk with everyone. Talking is our favorite exercise.
Bingo is every Friday with prizes, and one of our favorites is Vienna sausages. Potluck is once monthly, the second Thursday in the month, and everyone gets to cook their special dish. We have some talented musicians who like to play for us, plus one lady who plays the spoons.
We celebrated Labor Day on Friday, Sept. 2, with hot dogs, coleslaw, chips, drinks, cookies, and oh yes! onions.
We went to Jenkins for Jenkins Day and all the celebration. Everyone enjoyed looking at all the nice things and eating the good food. Neon Days is our next trip.
Again, let us say ‘you all come’ and God bless until we see you.
