Hello everyone! Hoping everyone had a great week. Mine has been okay.
While in Pikeville on Friday I saw Evadeen Webb, who is there for rehab. I met her daughter Delores and a neighbor of Evadeen and Glenn’s. She was a Gibson, but I forgot her first name. Evadeen is doing much better.
Mike went for wound care. The doctor is hoping that he has not messed up his foot again. Said it looks like infection is in the bone again. Pray for him.
Melinda Daniel has had 10 chemo treatments, and the doctor wants her to continue them for awhile. She is scheduled for an MRI this week. Keep her in prayer.
Late happy birthday to Carl Parrott. He turned 92 years old last week. He celebrated with all his friends and lots of family at the Hemphill Center last Friday night. All had cake and ice cream.
He has a big family and some of them were from Courtland, Tenn. All had a good time and he sang “Will the Circle be Unbroken.”
We love you, Carl.
There will be no Friday night picking during the month of September because of the Mountain Heritage Festival activities. They will resume Oct. 3 with Will Caudill and Rte. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Everyone have a great month.
Happy third birthday to Haley Sturgill on Sept. 1; happy 14th anniversary to Pam and Marvin Taylor on Sept. 1; Happy birthday to Bro. Elwood Cornett on Sept. 2.
My mother died 20 years ago at age 70 on Sept. 3. Her name was Mary Fields. Her sister Ella Maggard had a birthday on Sept. 3. Both are gone from our homes, but never from our hearts. I love and miss both of them.
Also in memory is Annalene Frazier Elkins, who died two years ago on Sept. 3, and Bobby Bockover. He and Shelby would have been married 55 years on Sept. 5. I will be thinking of you, Shelby, on that day.
A great service at church Sunday. Bro. Frank talked about looking ahead to see what God has in store for you, and not to be looking back at your past.
Not much going on in the neighborhood this week. All seem to be doing pretty good at this time.
Most of the children are in school, and parents are busy.
Well folks, I am off here for now. Have a great week, keep someone in prayer this week, attend the church of your choice.
May God bless.
