Thanksgiving brings our family together

Big Cowan

Hello, everyone. I thought I would start writing again thanks to Stanley Pack and my uncle, Isom Fields. Stanley, I am glad you enjoy my articles when I have stuff in the paper, also my uncle, Isom Fields of Morristown, Tenn., has been getting onto me about writing.

My uncle, Isom Fields, came in Thanksgiving for the visitation rites for Green Calihan Jr. Green died Nov. 20 and the funeral was Nov. 23. Burial was in the Kingdom Come Cemetery. Green was the son of the late Lloyd and Nora (Calahan) Calihan. Our sympathy goes to all his family. He will be missed by family and friends.

My sister, Christine Fields, and husband James and three granddaughters, Ashley, Rebecca, and Macalia, came in from Greensburg, Ind., on Thanksgiving Day and stayed a few days. They stayed on night with their cousins, Deidra and Tonya Fields, and Emily McIntosh and Marty. Christine put her name in over at the Vendors Mall in a drawing and they drew her name. She got Victoria’s Secret Perfume. Also, I was glad my Uncle Isom came in from Tennessee. We tried to get him to stay all night but he had to get back home.

Eddie and I enjoyed a real good Thanksgiving dinner at the Premium Baptist Church. They had everything you wanted. It was for anyone that wanted to come so we went.

Eddie’s half-sister, Barb Summers, died of cancer in Ohio. She was 54 years old.

Our sympathy goes out to all the ones that lost a loved one.

Ed Neil Fields has been real sick. He needs everyone’s prayers.

A few of us from the Whitesburg Freewill Baptist Church had prayer with Velma Slone and a few others including Essie Boggs at the hospital after church. They all need everyone’s prayers. God bless.
