Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.

It’s time to write again. I hope to get it in, but if we get what the weatherman is telling us this weekend I may have ice and snow on my hill and I won’t get this in till next weekend.

There’s not much to write about after all the excitement of Christmas plays and church dinner and Howard Christmas party and Bobby Ray Howard’s big Christmas party. We are all worn out, but it was great and I enjoyed it all. Now we have two or three inches of snow and I can’t get out, so I can just settle in and keep warm and eat all the goodies I got for Christmas.

I did go to Hazard with Kevin Day and Wendy and Larry Kevin last Saturday and ate Chinese and shopped a little. I really enjoyed it. I hadn’t had Chinese at Hazard before and it was delicious! Thank you again, Kevin and Wendy! They are good to me. All my family treat me so nice and I surely appreciate it. I love all of them.

Rocki and Matt Hill of Lexington are pictured with their two children. She is the daughter of Rob Hatton of Owensboro and the late Joan Trent Hatton.

My sister Betty Tyree came out and visited me and we had a good visit. My family, all the Howards, don’t visit much, but we all talk often. I guess that’s what most people do. I’m glad we have the telephones. A lot of my family have health problems and some of them have jobs and we are all getting older and don’t get around much.

Thank you, Julie and Jamie Hatton, for the calendar you gave me with all the family pictures. They give me one every year and I love and appreciate it. A lot of work goes into it. I look forward to it every year.

I really am proud of my grandson Dr. Kevin Hatton and wife Adrienne. In lieu of gifts this Christmas, they bought clothes and gifts for four children and their parents. It really touched me. Kevin’s parents, Rob Hatton and the late Joan Trent Hatton, always did that.

We offer our sympathy to all who lost loved ones, especially the family of the young man who was killed.

It was good talking to my friend Anna Watkins in Florida.

We’ve been friends for over 50 years.

We were all so glad to see our cousin Dorthy Miles at our Howard Christmas party. She looked really good and she is doing much better. We are all so thankful for that.

I got a call from Bertha (Page) Dye of Prestonsburg, one of our Marlowe girls. Not many of them are left, but we have lots of memories and we remember the good old days there.

I want to say hello to my good friends Juanita and Earl Profitt on Cowan. I hope they are doing better. They both have health problems.

I haven’t been out much since Christmas. I think this was one of the busiest ones I’ve had in a long time and I’m just kicked back and resting.

I was glad to see Christine Field’s news back in The Eagle. I always read it. I know lots of people she writes about.

I’m sure all of Bill Hatton’s family are glad to have Sam and Ellie Mullins back home. They spent Christmas in California with their dad. They had two Christmases, one here before they left. I guess there was a big change in the weather. They are glad to be back home.

We are supposed to get about three inches of snow tonight (Sunday). I’ve already been snowed in. It’s been a little warmer today, but it’s supposed to get real cold. I hope it doesn’t last long.

I talked with my son Astor “Red” Hatton yesterday. His daughter Kathy Nelson and her daughter Caroline of Alabama spent a week with him and I know they all enjoyed it all. You get the royal treatment when you visit Astor and Rosemary. They love company!

I didn’t think I could get out and turn my news in. Looks like I’m going to make it.

Hello to all my friends. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year’s.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere if you are able and if the weather permits.
