The Imagination Library expands

The Imagination Library is coming to Isom, Jeremiah, Letcher, and Blackey. Registration will be held during the Kids Day Event on Calvary Campus at Letcher on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To be eligible to register for the program, children must be under 5 years of age, and have a mailing address and 911 address of Isom 41824, Jeremiah 41826, Letcher 41832, or Blackey 41804.

The Imagination Library, founded by country music star Dolly Parton in 1996, provides age appropriate books each month to children from birth until their fifth birthday regardless of family income, absolutely free.

Th is is the third expansion of the Imagination Library in the last 45 days. On August 24, the areas of Jenkins 41537, Burdine 41517, Neon 41840 and McRoberts 41835 were added to the service area. On Sept.21, the Premium 41845 area was added. The original service area of Whitesburg 41858 was established in January 2012.

To sponsor a child or make a tax deductible donation to the Imagination Library, make checks payable to Whitesburg Rotary Foundation, Inc. and mail to P.O. Box 406, Whitesburg, KY 41858.
