This has been a crazy week. Three of our neighbors have died, Delmar Fields, Raymond Lewis Mc- Cool, and Willamae Boggs. They had been sick for a very long time. Our sympathy goes out to all their families.
There is so much trouble going on in this world, and especially Letcher County. Anything from drugs to land disputes, divorces, separations, and anything else you can think of. Ever since time began troubles have been going on. It just seems to get worse.
You can tell that the end of time is getting closer, and we just need to be ready when God calls His children home. Pray for me that I can get a stronger walk with God.Th
is past summer has really been rough, and I let my guard down, so remember me in your prayers that I can overcome the aggravation, anger and bitterness that has built up.
I liked Jim Cornett’s article in The Mountain Eagle
titled “I am tired.”
Well now, after all the gloom and doom, let’s look on the brighter side of life. Summer’s almost over and fall will soon be here. I am looking forward to all the beautiful trees and cooler weather, and then winter comes along and covers us with that beautiful snow. I think the first snow is the prettiest, but after a few of those I am ready again for spring.
Audrey and Charles Hammonds of North Vernon, Ind., are in, taking care of some business. Saturday afternoon, he got his arm broken. I wish him a speedy recovery.
Agnes Maggard of Columbus, Ind., has lost almost all of her vision in her right eye. She will not be able to have a cornea transplant. She went to her eye doctor last week and he is referring her to a specialist. She also went to the sleep clinic over the weekend to be checked for sleep apnea. Keep her and Bill in your prayers.
Hello to Anna Maggard. I hope she is doing OK. It won’t be long, girl, until those basketball games start, and we know UK will beat IU. Ha, ha! We know that you and Mike ‘Little Bobby Knight’ will be for IU, and that your dad will cheer on UK. Take care! Love you.
I hope that all of you are having a good week. Attend the church of your choice, try to get along with one anther, and pray for those who use you and persecute you.
Until next time, God bless.
