Three are sentenced after entering guilty pleas

Three Letcher County residents entered guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court last week.

• Randy Walling, 36, of 17 Garden Drive, Whitesburg, pleaded guilty to charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs (third offense within 10 years, amended to second offense within 10 years); failure to wear seat belt; failure of owner/operator to maintain required insurance/ security; operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked operator’s license; first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine); and use/possession of drug paraphernalia

Under a separate indictment, Walling also pleaded guilty to use/ possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) was dismissed.

Walling was sentenced to imprisonment for three years to run consecutively for the two sets of charges, and ordered to pay $500 in court costs.

• Stacy Watts, 45, of 164 Perkins Branch, Jeremiah, pleaded guilty to first-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense) and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment and placed on probation for five years.

• Shane Hamilton, 31,of 351 Crossover Road, Mayking, entered a guilty plea to flagrant non-support of his minor children. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
