Three sentenced after entering guilty pleas

Three Letcher County men entered guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court. The three are:

• Jake Tyler Smith, 25, of 42 Seals Dr., Neon, who pleaded guilty to charges contained in three indictments. In Smith’s first indictment, the charges were first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. The second indictment charged Smith with first-degree bail jumping. In the third indictment, Smith was charged with first-degree fleeing/evading police (on foot), first-degree possession of controlled substances (methamphetamine, second offense), and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Smith was sentenced to imprisonment for one year each on the indictments with sentences to run consecutively.

• Eulis Alfred Adams II, 50, of 70 Payne Gap, Jenkins, who pleaded guilty to failure to comply with sex offender registration (first offense).

Adams was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, probated for two years.

• Charles Michael Osborne, 26, of 7924 Hwy. 119 S, Eolia, who pleaded guilty to first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense), use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree promoting contraband.

Osborne had earlier entered a guilty plea to charges of engaging in organized crime-criminal syndicate, first-degree criminal complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and first-degree criminal complicity to promoting contraband, for which he was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.

The sentences in the two cases will run consecutively.
