Three sentenced after guilty pleas

3 plead guilty

Three Letcher County residents have entered guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court. They are:

Michael Wayne Slone, 44, of Moonshine Drive, Whitesburg, who pleaded guilty to charges of public intoxication (excludes alcohol), use/ possession of drug paraphernalia with firearm enhancement, and three counts of possession of firearm by convicted felon. A charge of being a second-degree persistent felony offender was dismissed.

Slone was sentenced to five years in prison to run concurrently with a U.S. District Court case and was credited with time spent in custody prior to sentencing.

Harold Back, 33, of 246 Prince Albert Drive, Lot 1, Mayking, who pleaded guilty to a charge of flagrant non-support of his minor children. A charge of being a second-degree persistent felony offender was dismissed.

Back was ordered to pay $3,770.85 in current arrearages. He is to pay $100 plus $25 in arrearages to the Letcher County Division of Child Support. He was also sentenced to five years in prison, probated for five years, and was credited with time spent in custody prior to sentencing.

Bobby Ray Combs, 21, of 179 Daniels Branch, Whitesburg, who pleaded guilty to a charge of tampering with evidence for which he was sentenced to five years in prison. Charges of two counts of third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of marijuana, and use/possession of drug paraphernalia were revoked. Combs was credited with time spent in custody prior to sentencing.
