Three sentenced after guilty pleas

Three Letcher County residents have entered guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court. They are:

• Brian Scott Sizemore, 110 Kona Drive, Isom, pled guilty to charges in three indictments.

One indictment charged Sizemore with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid with injury, driving with DUI suspended operator’s license (second offense), failure of owner to maintain required insurance/ security, first-degree wanton endangerment and criminal mischief. Sizemore was ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution through the Circuit Court Clerk to Joy Back of Blackey. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, probated for five years.

The second indictment contains charges to which Sizemore pled guilty of possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to three years in prison, probated for five years.

The prison and probation sentences are to be served consecutively.

• Bennett Polly, 128 Smokey Row, Jenkins, who was charged in four indictments, pled guilty to public intoxication (excludes alcohol), possession of marijuana, first-degree criminal possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to three years in prison, probated for five years.

Polly pled guilty to charges contained in a second indictment, including trafficking marijuana (under eight ounces), public intoxication (excludes alcohol), second-degree possession of controlled substance, promoting contraband and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charges to which he also pled guilty that were listed in a third indictment are first degree criminal possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), use/ possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree promoting contraband. He was sentenced to five years in prison, probated for five years.

A fourth indictment to which he pled guilty contains a charge of first-degree promoting contraband for which Polly was sentenced to three years in prison, probated for five years.

The sentences from the four indictments will be served consecutively.

• Jasmine N. Cornett, 150 Alaska Ave., Whitesburg, pled guilty to charges of first-degree trafficking of controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense with firearm enhancement), use/possession of drug paraphernalia (with firearm enhancement) and two counts of receiving stolen property (firearm). She was sentenced to ten years in prison, probated for five years.

Cornett also pled guilty to charges in a second indictment of use/possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and public intoxication.
