Throws perfect game

Twelve-year-old Chase Adams, who will be a sixthgrader at Whitesburg Middle School, pitched a perfect game on June 8 at a Little League baseball game at Virgie. In his last game as a Little League player, Adams pitched four innings for the Whitesburg Cubs on Saturday before the mercy rule went into effect. It is thought that in the last 11 years, this is the second time a pitcher for the Whitesburg Little League has pitched a perfect game. Chase is the son of Chris Adams of Whitesburg. Chase, who also hit two home runs this season, is pictured with his coach, John Cunniff.
