Thula Ison celebrating her 78th birthday

Big Cowan

Hello everyone! It has been a nice, cool week, especially mornings. Hotter during the day.

Late happy birthday on Aug. 11 to Brandon Wilson. He is a son of Joyce and Dean Wilson.

Birthdays this week are: Roger Eldridge and Enos Sturgill, Aug. 24; Jerry Fields will be 67 on Aug. 25; Mike Fields will be 42 on Aug. 24 (we are proud of you, son, and we love you); Samantha Nicole Callahan will be 24 on Aug. 27; Thula Ison will be 78 on Aug. 28.

Thula Ison said she will live to be 102, and be killed by some old woman for trying to take her man. Ha, ha.

I hope all of them have a great day and enjoy.

In memory of Carl Mullins, who died two years ago on Aug. 24. He is still missed by his daughter, Carla, and the rest of his family.

Also, Bobby Bockover of Greensburg, Ind. would have had a birthday on Aug. 31. He is still missed very much by his wife, Shelby, and sons and all who knew him.

Prayers this week for: Dorthy Jean Miles; Sonia Fields; Irene and Eugene Day; Audrey and Charles Hammonds; Agnes Maggard; Carla, Destiny, Tony and Joe Maggard; Archie Fields and Margaret Fields; Kathy, Eddie and Thomas Wolfe; and all of my family.

Emma and Chris Adams took Irene and Eugene Day to Kingsport, Tenn., last week to Golden Corral for Irene’s birthday dinner. Irene enjoyed it and she said she ate way too much. They do have good food, and it is easy to eat way too much.

Hello to Ella Preston in Florence; Georgette and Harry Sims and Madison in Danville; Arthur Pendleton in Columbus, Ind.; Marie Boyd in Virginia; Louise Sturgill and her family in Ohio; and all of the children of the late Willard and Dorothy Maggard in Kentucky and Indiana. I’m hoping all of them are doing well.

I met Dole Day awhile back. He knew or knows a lot of people I know. He is a nephew of Coleman Day and the late Marion Day. He knew my mom and dad, my uncle Ray Fields, who is deceased, and Irene and Eugene Day. He is the dad of our famous Kevin Day from the Bulldog radio station.

Doyle is really a very nice man, and very friendly, and it was a pleasure to meet him. Hoping he and his wife are having a great week.

Well folks, I’ve got to go for now. Have a great week and keep someone in prayer. Attend the church of your choice.

Until next time, may God bless each and every one of you.
