Tommy Fields celebrating 70th birthday on Sept. 26

Big Cowan

Hello everyone! How is everyone?

It has been another sad week on Cowan. Frank Sturgill, the husband of Carolyn Harvey Sturgill, died at the age of 66. He was a good man and loved and worked hard for his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was a son of the late Margie and Carol Sturgill. My sympathy goes out to all his family, and remember them in prayer.

Dee Dee Meade Williams of the Faith Singers has died also, after a battle with cancer. My prayers are for her family also.

Happy birthday to Tommy Fields, who will turn 70 on Sept. 26. Congratulations.

Happy birthday to Jeremy

Ogle, and to Edra Mae Pack, who will be 74, on Sept. 27.

Happy birthday to Missy Fields on Sept. 28, and my oldest granddaughter, Ashley Renee Fields-Williams will be 22 years old on Sept. 30.

Love you, girl, and proud of you. She is going to school to be a cosmetologist.

Darlene Maggard Absher will be 54 on Sept. 30. Happy birthday.

My father-in-law, the late Roy “Shorty” Fields would have been 96 on Oct. 1. He is still missed by all who knew him. He lived in Edmonton.

Congratulations to Anthony and Tiffany Bates on the birthday of their daughter, Aubrey Nicole. She is perfect.

Also, Tony and Fay Shepherd have a new grandson. Congratulations to all of them.

So much sickness and death lately, it is good to hear of new births.

Continue to pray for Lorraine Miles Stuart; Helen Sturgill Brown; Carla, Tony and Destiny Maggard; Mike Fields and Melinda Daniel; Estelene Shepherd; Regina Fields Slone; Della Mae Maggard; Irene and Eugene Day; Archie and Margaret Fields; Agnes Maggard; Audrey and Charles Hammonds; all my family, friends and neighbors; Maggie Stallard; and Dean and George Roark.

I want to invite all of you to King’s Chapel Church. God has really been moving in the services. Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Come and be with us anytime.

So sorry to hear of the death of Ellene Whitaker. She was 98 years old, and the widow of Astor Whitaker. She was a real good friend of my mother’s and they talked on the phone a lot.

Well folks, I am out of words to say. Have a good week, pray for someone, attend the church of your choice and may God bless.

Everyone enjoy the Mountain Heritage Festival this week. I hope to see home of you there.
