Tommy Webb to play at Hemphill Center April 11

The Hemphill Community Center would like to thank all our friends who come out for Friday Night Bluegrass. Without your support we couldn’t make bluegrass Fridays happen. The featured band for Friday Night Bluegrass on April 4 was East KY Tyme. We really appreciate all the help and support we get from Astor and the band. Thanks, guys.

Mr. Larry Roark visited our center on Friday night and treated the crowd to a couple of songs. Larry was joined on stage by Red Roberts, a.k.a. Old Red. We have one of Larry Roark’s gospel CD’s, and we love all the songs on it.

We also want to remind everyone about the last week of the fund drive at WMMT radio station. The DJs at WMMT are very faithful in announcing upcoming events at our center, and playing the local bands, so be sure to call in your pledge to 633-1208 or (888) 396-1208.

Come out and join us on April 11 when recording artist, Tommy Webb will be providing the entertainment. Tommy and his band are now number five on the national bluegrass charts with “If It Weren’t For Bluegrass Music I’d Go Crazy”. This is from the Eastern Kentucky CD, and if you haven’t heard it, come on out and join us on Friday night for some great entertainment and good eating. For more information about our Friday Night Bluegrass, please call Roy Johnson at 855-4578, Mark Spangler at 855- 4683 or Red Roberts at 855- 4396.

Miss Mabel and Miss Teresa would like to invite all the children in the area to the movie at the center on Saturday evenings at 6:00. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge for the movie and concessions will be available.

The Hemphill Community Center is now taking reservations for parties and reunions. To reserve the building, please contact Starla Hampton at (606) 855- 4191.
