Traditonal Arts program grows



Cowan, Campbell’s Branch, and Linefork/Kingdom Come Community Centers have received funding from the Brushy Fork Institute to expand their Traditional Arts programs this spring such as Passing the Pick and Bow, an afterschool music program, and the Cowan Creek Mountain Music School.

Activities planned include dance lessons (folk dances, square dances, and line dances), quilting/tacking, basket making, dulcimer making, and painting workshops. The youth string band, dance callers and folk dancers will provide music and dance lessons at the Cowan and Linefork/Kingdom Come Centers.
