Truman and Lucille Jent mark 45th anniversary

There was a mistake in my column last week. My dad turned 72 instead of 73. It was my sister, Debbie’s, fault; she’s the one that told me that was his age. I knew what it was but went with what she said. We had a cookout and I made ice cream cakes for them on Sunday at their cabin.

Vacation Bible School will be held at the Blackey Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, July 26, and Friday, July 27, from 6 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. Then it will be held on Saturday, July 28, from 9:30 a.m. till 12 p.m. That evening at 7 p.m. there will be a singing by Free Indeed. Everyone is welcome and I’ll try to put it back in my column next week if I have any news. Be sure and mark it on your calendar in case I don’t send any in.

My parents went to Pikeville Friday and visited with my cousin, Eric Back. He is now out of ICU and in a room. He is doing better and may get to come back to Letcher Manor Nursing Home this week. Dorse, Brandie and Eric’s son, Zack, went and visited with him on Thursday.

Happy birthday to my neighbor, Adam Henrikson. His is on July 24. His wife, Misty, has been sick. She is having problems with her lungs and had a reaction to the medicine. I hope she feels better soon.
