Two birthdays marked with great fish fry, cake

Cowan

We were so happy to get the good news that Bradley Brown got saved last Sunday at the West View Church in Kingsport, Tenn.

On Tuesday, Bessie cooked one of her great fish fry dinners and Zelma Lou brought a beautiful cake to celebrate the birthdays of their husbands, Jack Day and Bert Banks.

Attending were Jack and Bessie’s son Randy and grandson David; Bert and Zelma Lou’s granddaughter Elizabeth and great-granddaughters Lexie, Charles and Faye Banks; Virginia Brown and myself.

This was mostly the gang that used to get together weekly for Bible Study and supper. We enjoyed being together so much that no one wanted to leave.

We could have sat and talked all day. We did miss those of our gang who weren’t there.

Hello to Ella Preston in Florence and Cat Banks, who is with her daughter.

Randy Day says he is a penpal with Ella and keeps her informed of all that’s going on around here.

A baby shower was held Feb. 16, at the Cowan Community Center for Nathan Banks and Tya Lucas. They are expecting twin girls. They received lots of nice gifts and everyone had a good time.

Clayton and Katie Banks have a new son, John Cooper. His big brother, Clinton, is very proud of the new baby.
