Two men have been sentenced to time in jail after entering guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court.
Letcher Circuit Judge Sam Wright sentenced Mickey Lee Thacker, 39, of 928 Callahan Branch, Kimper, to the maximum term of of 10 years in prison after Thacker pleaded guilty to 20 counts of complicity to criminal possession of a forged prescription, six counts of complicity to criminal possession of blank prescription pads, complicity to firstdegree trafficking in a controlled substance, complicity to seconddegree trafficking in a controlled substance, complicity to trafficking a legend drug, use/possession drug paraphernalia, controlled substance in an improper container and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
Thacker will receive credit for 94 days served in jail while awaiting sentencing.
The crimes were committed September 1, 2010.
Eric Scott Cantrell, 26, of 6 ROTC Dr., Neon, was recently sentenced to three years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, driving under the influence (fourth offense) and operating a motor vehicle DUI with a suspended license. The crime occurred on August 11, 2010.
Cantrell will receive 246 days jail credit for time served while awaiting sentencing.
In a separate case referring to events which happened on May 10, 2010, Cantrell pleaded guilty to trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school and second degree trafficking in a controlled substance. He was ordered supervised probation for three years.
Cantrell must pay $150 in restitution to the Letcher County Clerk’s Office for the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department.
