Two Letcher County women have entered guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court.

Melinda Jewel Henson, 43, of 100 A.O.K. Drive, Jenkins, pleaded guilty to the charges in two indictments. In the first indictment she was charged with first-degree criminal possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine, two grams or more), first-degree criminal possession of controlled substance (opiate), third-degree possession of controlled substance (hydrocodone), controlled substance (prescription) not in proper container, and criminal use/possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle was dismissed.

In the second indictment Henson pleaded guilty to criminal use/possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Henson was sentenced to a prison term of three years, probated for five years for the two indictments to be served consecutively.

Tina Loisann Yeary, 40, of 228 Burdine Store Hill, Burdine, pleaded guilty to second-degree escape and was sentenced to two years imprisonment, probated for two years. Yeary escaped while being held on house arrest.
