Vanderpools mark third anniversary

My sympathy to the family of Jonah Jent of Woodrock. He died on Monday, Dec.5, at his home. Jonah was 28. He was the son of Floyd and Wanda Jent. I’m so sorry for their loss.

My parents Pnut and Jean Blair of Elk Creek had to go to Lexington Friday for my dad’s doctor’s appointment. He has not been feeling well. He is off balance and first they thought he might have a problem with his kidneys, but they ruled that out. Now they are checking the tests they did on his heart. I hope we get good news about that too, and maybe it’s just the medicine he is on that causing him the problems.

Wesley Dixon of Carcassonne got to come home from the hospital last week. He is doing better and they thought he would do better at home. He is the son of John and Jenny Dixon. They took him to a Christmas party and said he couldn’t stop smiling. I wish him the best.

Happy anniversary to Manuel and Amanda Vanderpool of Carcassonne. It was their third on Dec. 6. They have two handsome little boys, Asher and Weston.

My sympathy to the family of Ronnie Rogers of Louisville, formerly of Blackey. He died at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Ronnie had cancer. He was the son of Nannie Mae Rogers and the late Ed Rogers. Ronnie was 53.

Lavonna Dixon of Woodrock was involved in a bad wreck a few weeks ago and was taken to the Pikeville hospital. She was in ICU as of Saturday, but might get to go to a regular room. Her daughter Keashia said she had a slight concussion, some bleeding in her brain and a fracture in her neck, which is in a brace. She is in for a long recovery. I wish her the best. Blackey

My sympahty to the family of Clell Riley of Blackey. He died at his home on Dec. 11.

Santa will be coming to Blackey on Friday evening to give out candy and gifts on Friday, Dec. 16, starting at 6 p.m. Santa will arrive at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Happy birthday to my husband Lee Roy. It is on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Music in Blackey will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Blackey Senior Citizens building starting at 6 p.m. with open mike. At 7 p.m. Taylyn Combs, Shawn and Whitney Stamper, and Jack Adams will be singing, then Bits and Pieces will be performing. Food will be available from the LES dance team. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and other prizes. Everyone is welcome.

Just in case I get to busy and don’t have news again till after Christmas, I always have to say happy birthday to Laura Caudill of Los Angeles, Calif. It’s on Dec. 28. She is the daughter of Jerry and Vondy Caudill of Elk Creek.

Merry Christmas to all my family and friends.
