Viola ‘Buggie’ Adams dies at 85



Viola “Buggie” Adams, 85, of Little Colley, died April 5 at Letcher Manor Nursing Home.

A daughter of the late Hiram and Lizzie Adams Sexton, she was the widow of James Earl Adams. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Adams; two infant sons; a granddaughter, April Dawn Wright; 1 sister:g Mable Fowler; and five brothers, Forest Ison, John D. Ison, Gail Ison, Robert Ison, and Elijah Ison.

Surviving are two sons, Joe Adams and wife Gail, and Jim Adams and wife Teresea, all of Isom; a daughter, Jackie Wright and husband Charles of Pikeville; nine grandchildren, Mark Sr. and wife Nancy, Tracy, Mickey and wife Crystal, Kevin and wife Teresa,

Andrea and husband Jonathon, Scott, Tessa and husband Brian, Jason and wife Laura, and Autumn; 14 great-grandchildren, Nikki, Ashley, Shawn, Megan, Brandon, Mark, Devin, Ethan, Kaden, Aaron, Ian, Lucas, Kayla, and Presley; five great-great-grandchildren, Toni, Tori, Taylor, Layla, and Chase; seven brothers, Clyde Ison of Texas, Dennis Ison of Isom, Danis Ison of Gratis, Ohio, Gideon Ison of Isom, Ralph Ison of Knott County, Everett Ison of West Carrollton, Ohio, and Ivol Ison of Moraine, Ohio; and two sisters, Alice Faye Keith of Indiana and Louise Adams of Isom.

Funeral services were held April 9 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in the Earl Adams Cemetery at Isom.
