Virginia Amburgey, 83, Whitesburg, died January 18 at the University Medical Center in Lexington.
A daughter of the late Bobbie and Dora Bell Gibson, she was the widow of Howard Amburgey and a great-aunt of the late L’Erin Mullins.
She was a graduate of Carr Creek High School and attended Alice Lloyd College. She was employed at the DuPont Power Plant in Charlestown, Ind., and at Apples Department Store in Louisville.
She was a member of the Letcher County Homemakers and attend the United Methodist Church in Whitesburg.
Surviving are a brother, Virgil Gibson, Otisco, Ind.; four sisters, Velma Gibson, Otisco, Ind.; Ollie Miller and husband Keith, Sellersburg, Ind.; Betty Jean Snelling, Charlestown, Ind.; and Vernell G. Mullins, Whitesburg; 10 nieces and nephews, 22 great-nieces and great- nephews, and eight great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
