We are still having nice weather. Everything is pretty and green. Those who have gardens are enjoying fresh vegetables, and are busy taking care of them. We appreciate the market places that keep fresh vegetables, fruit, etc.
Several attended church at Little Cowan on Sunday. Dinner was also enjoyed by all at the close of the service, and John Banks’s birthday was celebrated.
Elder Brad Dutton and his wife came from Louisa. It’s always good to see them.
Elizabeth Fairchild and Camie Gilly attended Little Dove Church at Eolia on Sunday, and reported a good service.
We are proud of the many churches here in the mountains.
It seems like the evenings get pretty cool.
Carl Bennett and Marsha enjoyed their visit in Chicago.
Lucy Stevenson of Bryan, Miss., came and spent a couple of days on Cowan with Kathy LaMonte. Lucy works with Kathy at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Miss.
Allan Burns, fiancé of Sara LaMonte, enjoyed his stay on Cowan. He met a lot of Sarah’s family and did a few ‘handy man’ jobs for Kathy during their stay.
While they were all visiting, they drove across Little Shepherd Trail and saw several bears. Sarah and Allen also borrowed Bobby Phillips’s four-wheeler and explored the mountains.
Allan is from Star, Miss. He and Sarah both plan to attend Hinds Community College.
Joe and Linda Brown of Forest, Miss., spent the week with his mother, Virginia Brown, and his brother Randy and Eula Mae Brown. They came bearing fresh eggs from a flock of freerange chickens, and a bushel of perfect tomatoes from their garden. His brother, Stephen, and son, Robert, joined them on Sunday.
Randy’s son, Jason, and Amanda, also came from Tennessee for a few days. Those Brown boys sure have a good time when they’re together.
