Vivian Ruth Day, 80 of Scipio, Ind., died May 10 at University of Cincinnati Hospital.
Born in Whitesburg to the late Jonah and Margie Shephard Hogg, she was a sister of the late Thomas Hogg, Ronnie Hogg, Bernadine Hands, Matilda Warden and Evadean Marcum.
She was graduated from Whitesburg High School and had worked at Franklin County Manufacturing in Brookville, Indiana, and as a store clerk at Morgan’s General Store in Scipio.
She was a Special Olympics coach for 20 years, and she and her husband were named Family of the Year in 1994.
She is survived by her husband, Hayward Day; three children, Terry Day, Tim Day, and Kim Day; five grandchildren, Justin Day, Kyle Day, Jacob Day, Caleb Day and Kelsey Day; two brothers, Bill Ison of Brookville, Ind., Hubert Caudill of North Carolina; two sisters, Ann Calihan of Harrison, Oh., and Lavonne Haulbert of North Carolina.
Funeral services were held May 14 in Indiana. Burial was in the Scipio United Cemetery in Indiana.
