The Kentucky Chapter of the ALS Association will hold its Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, May 10, in Louisville. Among the participants will be Bill Lamont, who is walking in honor of his brother-in-law, Robert Martini, who is battling the disease.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gherig’s disease, is a fatal neuromuscular disease. The Walk to Defeat ALS is held annually to raise money to support ALS research and community based patient services programs. Donations may be sent to Nan Lamont, 114 Charlie White Lane, Jenkins, Ky. 41537, 855-4624, or Bill Lamont, 1407 Grandview Court, Lagrange, Ky. 40031. Checks should be made payable to the ALS Association.
