Wattses mark 34th anniversary

Cowan Creek

Ernie Ison, Raven Ison, Donna Watts and I went to Johnson City Tenn., to Red Lobster. Such good food. We then took Raven school shopping. Gotter done!

Congratulations to Chris and Rachel Fields of Thornton. They are now the proud parents of three wonderful children. The adoption is now over. So, happy for all. God is good. They have been foster parents to these children for over five years.

Prayers for the family of Ella Preston. She taught library at Cowan Elementary School for many years. She was a great woman. She will be missed. I remember Mom was really good friends with her daughter in-law, Diane Preston, married to Bruce Preston.

Happy anniversary to Mike and Donna Watts of Roxana. They have been married for 34 years on July 26.

Micca Watts Gordan of Shelbyville left for UCLA on the 11th of July to work on a career summit for high school students who are interested in the film and arts industry. Through this she taught dance as well as leadership skills in a workshop-style setting at the New York Film Academy, Stella Adler School of Acting, UCLA and USC. The students created short films on the Universal Studios backlots and toured some of Hollywood’s most iconic places and even met some A-list stars. She returned on the 22nd of July. She has pics posted on Facebook.

My daughter Morgan would have loved to have seen Marilyn Monroe’s resting place — traditional kiss on her tomb, 1926- 1962. Not every day you get to visit L.A. I am sure Micca will remember this experience forever. May God bless her for taking time out for these teens.

Eli spent the two weeks with his granny and pap. He says he is not ready to come back to visit yet. Thinking he missed his family. God bless the children.

Happy birthday to Sarah Lamonte of Mississippi. She is the daughter of Kathy Sigrest Lamonte, our cousins. I can’t wait to take a cousin trip ( Granny’s Gals) to visit Mississippi. Maybe someday? Love my cousins.

Picked the last of my beans. One batch to eat, one to dry. Out of a whole row I got four pickin’s. I didn’t think that was good. I got the seeds from a guy last year at Vicco selling beans. Oh well, they looked like greasy beans. My favorite. So much for that.

Prayers for peace.
