Wedding of Judy and Rick Branham celebrated

Bardstown

I’d like to begin this week by announcing the wedding of Judy and Rick Branham. They were married on June 22 at the home of Judy’s parents, Tate and Inez Hampton, with a few friends and family present. Trillis Adams was the preacher.

Judy is manager of the Food City deli in Clintwood, Va. Rick is a retired parole officer. Best wishes to the happy couple.

In other news, there is a water shortage advisory in effect in Bardstown and several other counties in Kentucky. Everything has started turning brown instead of green. What few bees were still managing to hang around to find a clover flower that might still be white or purple, have disappeared with no success.

Aside from a quick shower from time to time during the past week, the rains are too few and too far between.

I missed some news and missed a few birthdays.

Celebrating birthdays this month are Shelly Boone, June 6; Verna Rayburn, June 17; and Kim Hampton, June 10.

So that I don’t miss anyone for July, those would be Inez Hampton, July 5; her granddaughter, Sara Hampton, July 5; Heather Lau of Bardstown, Crystal Hampton, Corbin Hampton and Kayla Lewis and Kristi Bolling of Whitco, July 9. I think that covers everyone.

Get well wishes for Kathy Cotton and Stacy Ferriell, who recently had surgeries.

In entertainment, in mid July there will be a concert, Raindrops and Boondocks, featuring B.J. Thomas, who had hits like “Hooked on a Feeling,” one of my all-time favorites. and Billy Joe Royal who made his comeback in the late ’80s and early ’90s and performed at the Mountain Heritage Festival during that period.Tickets are $22 ahead of time and $25 at the event.

Looks like that is the news for this week.

May God abundantly bless you.
