Winter is still hanging tough in our area, and more snow and cold are predicted for this week. But at least we didn’t have as much as other parts of the state.
Happy birthdays to Ila Adams, my nieces Amber and April, Kyna Linn Hampton, Donna Frazier, Lena Dixon, K.P. Pridemore and all others who have February birthdays.
Rodney Ison continues to recuperate from his back surgery he had last week. Hope this helps him to be up and about better.
Bob and I stopped in to visit Bill and Joyce Adams last Sunday evening. Their granddaughter Lori and her husband and twin greatgrandsons were also there visiting.
Another week of so much sadness to write about, not just in Jeremiah, but the surrounding communities as well.
Loreva Banks Fields of the Cowan area, died at Letcher Manor; the Blackey area lost Ray M. Arnold, who had been having health problems for awhile; the Camp Branch area lost Elmer Bates; the Isom area lost Carol Adams, who had been a patient at Letcher Manor for a few years and was always asking and looking for her parents — she must have had such a strong bond with them; Sheila Griffie Taylor lost her precious daughter Melody, who lived in Tennessee with her husband John and was always a pretty and sweet person; then the Blair Branch and Jeremiah area suffered the loss of father and son, Carlos and Tracy “Stimey” Adams in a tragic four-wheeler accident.
So much sadness throughout the area, and so many brokenhearted neighbors. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all whose loved ones were called away by death. It will be a lonely time for them from now on.
Such a large outpouring of love and support was shown at the funeral services for Carlos and Tracy that their family must be pleased to know how much the community loved them. They left this world together as they had loved for so much of their lives, and we pray for their family during this tragedy and in the upcoming lonely times when they will miss them.
Family may not see each other every day, but it’s still such a strong bond and hard when you lose one member. How difficult to lost two members is inconceivable.
I really don’t know how to change topics after so much sadness, so I think that’s all for this week.
