Weighing the negatives against the positives

I have been thinking again, and as I have said before, I am unpredictable when I start thinking, which is something I don’t do very often because it takes a tremendous amount of energy. I am not in my rocker at the moment, but I am headed that way. You might oughta put the cat out too, lest its tail gets too close to my rocker

After much thought, consideration, calculations and deductions, I have come to the conclusion that there are as many negatives as there are positives in world. As many ups as downs, frowns as smiles, and as much joy as disappointments. There are as many friendly people as there are snobs, as many givers as there are takers, as many, oops, more thieves as there are honest people.

If one makes a calculation and gets it right, it’s a positive. If it comes out wrong, it’s a negative. If one has a good dream, they may even smile as they sleep. But that would also be their joy or up. If they awaken to find or realize that it was just that, a dream, their up would suddenly become a down even as their joy turned into disappointment. While they may smile while asleep, the smile would turn into a frown. If they have an awful dream or nightmare, as people often say and realize, it was only a dream the results would be reversed.

As for smiles and frowns, it takes no more energy to smile than it does to frown. As for the friendly people versus snobs, there are people who will greet you with a smile anywhere you meet them. But you could count yourself fortunate if you got as much as a grunt or glare from a snob.

There are people who would give you the proverbial shirt off their back if they thought of you as “in need.” But there are those who have more than they need, and they give no thought or consideration to someone in need. Instead, they are continually conniving to get more.

This is also where the honest and the thieves come to the surface, as the rich man the Bible speaks of. I know what I’ll do. I’ll tear down what I have and build bigger ones. But it didn’t come to pass, did it? The Lord said, “Tonight your soul will be required.”

Since there appear to be more people who die in the early hours of the day, it is entirely possible that they could have a nightmare and the shock is more than they can take in their weakened state. Some may die with their final expression being one of pain or fear, while some may have a smile on their face as if they saw something wonderful as their last vision. Whatever the case may be, it is known only to God.
