Wennings celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary

Cowan

Hello everyone, I hope all had a good week. I do enjoy the warmer days of spring. I have some plants ordered and I’m waiting on them to come in. Apparently they have more orders than expected and they’re running behind schedule.

I want to say happy anniversary to Mike. We’ve been married 43 years on April 15. Life is so much better when you are best friends and sweethearts. We all know he spoils me.

Happy birthday to my brother John. He’s a good man and a wonderful brother.

Ella Caudill, Libby Honeycutt, Janet Napier, and Juanita Caudill went to Kingsport, Tenn., and they ate at Olive Garden. Ella said when they went to leave, the waitress said their bill had already been paid. A young lady paid for their meals because the sisters reminded her of her mother and her mother’s six sisters. The young lady was glad to see the Fields sisters spending time together.

Laura and Mike Harris of Lexington had a nice family Easter. They went to Monticello with their daughter Cassie and Josh Blanchard of Lexington, daughter Hannah Harris of Louisville, and grandson Landon. They spent time at the cemetery where Mike’s mother is buried. Mrs. Harris died on April 4th thirteen years ago. Afterwards they went to Mill Springs and had a family picnic. Laura said it was a beautiful day with beautiful weather. Laura also said it was the best picnic she had been on in a long time.

Candra Banks Leach of Kingsport, Tenn.came in over the weekend. She came in to visit her dad Donald Banks of Little Cowan. She was glad to have this time with her dad.

Donna Watts, Doris Ison, and Patricia Ball went to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for spring break. They had a wonderful time. The photos they posted were good.

Connor Eversole of Pikeville celebrated his ninth birthday on April 3. Those attending the party and cookout were Fred and Tiffany Eversole, Collin and Corbin Eversole, Doris Ison, Patty Ball, Byron Eldridge, Carolina and Bentleigh Eldridge. They all had an enjoyable time.

Mike and I had our second COVID shots. The ladies working at MCHC were so friendly. The day after the shot I had a fever. I was sick for about 24 hours and stayed home. I am glad that we took the vaccines.

Mike and I took a shopping trip to Wise, Va. and Kingsport, Tenn. We had several places we wanted to go to. We didn’t get a lot but did get things we needed. I do love my new porch rugs.

This week’s quote is “Love is not about how many days, months, or years you have been together. Love is about how much you love each other every single day.”

If you have any news, please email me at Cowannews@aol.com Thanks.

Enjoy the week and wear a mask.
