Wow, what an April Fool’s Day. I woke up to cool weather, later on some sunshine, then snow flurries and later, heavy rain and hail — all in one day. I thought March went out like a lion and that April would come in like a lamb. I don’t think so — not this time anyway. Now isn’t that something? Big Cowan
Late happy birthday wishes to cousins Marah Boggs and Jessie Boggs, March 28. Marah is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Baker Boggs and Jessie is the daughter of Keith and Cathy Lewis Boggs. I hope both of them had a great day.
Also, Brack Sexton had a birthday March 30. He celebrated with family. I hope you enjoyed your day.
March 31, Joe Lee Maggard had a birthday. He is the son of Mary Ann Brack and the late Curtis Maggard. I hope you had a good one, Joe.
April 1, Eugene Peters of Greensburg, Ind., and the late Ed Pack had a birthday, and my late Grandpa Willie Fields died April 1, years before I was born.
Carol Ann Fields Ison had a birthday, and I wish her the best and hope Kendall and her children, Marshall and Valerie Ison Horn and families took her out to celebrate.
Pam Fields Creech of Arkansas will be 42 on April 9. She is the daughter of Archie Ray and Margaret Pack Fields, and Lucille Collins. She plans on coming home to celebrate. Happy birthday, Pam.
Emily McIntosh will be 13 April12. She is the daughter of Juanita Fields Smith and Marty Smith and the late Benny McIntosh. I hope you have a good day, Emily, and enjoy.
Kendall Ison’s first cousin, Fernie Ison Smith, moved here recently from North or South Carolina, I’m not sure which. She is staying with Comis Ison until she can find a place, so we want to welcome her back to Kentucky. She is another one who moved away and came back in her later years. I hope she enjoys it as much as I do.
Mary Ann Maggard should be coming home from Hazard Rehab next week. She still needs to be in our prayers. Also, remember Mary Lou Fields in your prayers.
Happy birthday to Hannah Boggs Day of Cumberland, April 3. She is the daughter of Keith and Cathy Lewis Boggs of Cowan. We wish her the best. She is married to David Day and has a son, Peyton Isaiah.
Lots of birthdays and anniversaries this month, so I am putting a few in each week.
This bright sunshine we had on Sunday was a welcome sight. I’m ready for it to get warm and stay that way for awhile.
My husband and I like to ride in the country on different roads and hollows. I like looking at the different rock formations. Last Saturday we saw three large wild turkeys standing in the road, and we thought we saw a bear, but it turned out to be a very large, black dog. You never know what you will up on. We need a four-wheeler or 4×4 truck so we can see more.
Also, a happy birthday to Charles Raleigh, who has a birthday sometime this month.
Well, I’ve got to go. Have a good week, attend the church of your choice and be good to one another.
