The Natural Resources Conservation Service has set January 28 as the next ranking cut-off date for applications for the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQUIP).
WHIP provides financial and technical assistance to develop upland, wetland, riparian and aquatic habitats. There is a 10-acre minimum per application for this program.
EQUIP provides financial and technical assistance to plan and design measures such as grazing management, nutrient management, and erosion control. The program can also assist farms that are certified organic or changing to organic.
