Nolan White, 67, of Kona, died December 29 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born at Kona, he was a son of the late Charlie and Maggie Holbrook White, the father of the late Jay White. He was a brother of the late Ralph White and Wanda White.
White was a 1968 graduate of Pikeville College, and a military veteran. He was a federal mine inspector for the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
Surviving are his wife, Hope June Blackburn White; a daughter Tara Thornsbury and husband Dewayne, Pikeville; four grandsons, Travis White and David White, both of Kona, and Luke Thornsbury and Ryan Thornsbury, both of Pikeville; a granddaughter, Syndi Thornsbury, Pikeville; his daughter-in-law, Heldy White, Kona; two sisters, Nan Lamont, Kona, and Ruby Hall, Pikeville; and a brother, Roland White, Kona.
Funeral services were held January 1 at the Neon Church of God. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
