William Darrell Ivey buried at Blackey

Funeral services for William Darrell Ivey, 65, were held June 6 at the Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in the Pearl Dixon Cemetery at Blackey.

Born at Redfox, he was a son of the late Stanley Ivey and Hester Young Ivey Francis. He was a brother of the late Bradley A. Ivey and the grandfather of the late Brian Miniard. He died June 4 at his home at Jeremiah.

Ivey was a disabled truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by a son, William Mark Ivey, Harlan; two daughters, Teresa Hickey, Jeremiah, and Debbie Dillman, Harlan; five sisters, Ilene Gibson and Anne Francis, both of Redfox; Wanda Moore, Eastern; Linda Setzer, Whitesburg; and Glenda Gardner, Bristol, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Sherry Cooper, Logan Clem, David Miniard, Jessica Hickey, and Solomon Mullins Ivey; three great-grandchildren, Tristen Whitaker, Trenton Whitaker, and Xander Cooper; and his former wife, Mary Helen Ivey.
