William Ralph Palumbo, 50, died January 3 in Portland, Ore.
Born at Johnson Air Force Base near Tokyo, Japan, he was a son of Jewelene Adams and the late Guy L. Palumbo. His grandparents were the late Della Howard, John Palumbo, George Adams and Carmie Caudill.
He was a descendant of the first settlers into the Letcher County area, John Adams and Stephen Caudill.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he attended the University of Kentucky and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had charge of electronics on the C-5 Galaxy, the largest cargo plane in the world at that time. He later was a computer programmer.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two children Tiffany and Aaron, both of Portland, Ore.
Burial will take place at Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
