Funeral services for Wallace Reid Williams Sr., 84, of Pound, Va., were held March 12 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Va.
He died March 3 at Putnam Health Care Center in Palatka, Fla.
Born in Jenkins to the late George A. and China E. Williams, he was the widower of Reva May Hay Williams, and a brother of the late Ernest Williams, Lonnie Williams and Clyde Williams.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Jenkins, was retired as an electrician, and had been a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He was a Southern Baptist minister and had served as lay pastor and interim pastor at several churches.
Surviving are two sons, Wallace R. Williams Jr. and wife Judy of Homestead, Fla., and Stephen Williams and wife Regena of Pomona Park, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Ann Williams of Hillsville, Va.; a grandson, Glenn Wallace Williams; a granddaughter, Melissa Williams McDonnough; two great- grandchildren, Morgan Ann and Benjamin West; a step-grandchild, Elease Tinderencel; four stepgreat grandchildren, Jayla and Jenna, James Michael, Timothy Michael and wife Ashley; and three step-greatgrandchildren Timothy, Jordan and Alex.
