Wilma Hampton succumbs at 71




Wilma Jean Hampton, 71, of Eolia, died November 8 at Pikeville Medical Center after a long illness.

A daughter of the late Nancy and McClellan Addington, she was a sister of the late Mary Addington.

She was a member of Glady Fork Freewill Baptist Church for more than 25 years.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, William D. Hampton; two daughters, Millie Hampton and husband David, Eolia, and Becky Sturgill, Partridge; grandchildren, Shannon Belcher and husband Adam, Pound, Va., Autumn Sturgill, Cumberland, and David Hampton Jr. and wife Joy, Thornton; six greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Nell Shortt, Oak Ridge, Ore., and Ferba Rehilan, Allstead, N.H.

Funeral services were held November 10 in Pound, Va. Burial was November 11 in the Dewey Memorial Cemetery.
