Workshop set for Aug. 20

A free workshop, Solar 101, on responding to emergencies at buildings with rooftop solar panels will begin at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, at the office of H.O.M.E.S., Inc., 64 Bentley Ave., Whitesburg. The Mountain Association for Community Economic Development’s Commercial Energy Specialist, Josh Bills, will lead the workshop for emergency responders to enable them to become familiar with solar electric generating equipment at facilities with solar generators. Responders are welcome to drop in as presentations and tours will be offered on a rolling basis until 7:30 p.m. All emergency service providers are invited regardless of location.
