World War II veteran Paul Pigman succumbs

Paul Pigman, 95, died December 12 at his home in Whitesburg.

Born at Pine Top to the late Jasper and Myrtle Martin Pigman, he was the widower of Lola Marie Pigman.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Delmas Pigman, Walker Pigman, Audrey Pigman, Ray Pigman and Bill Pigman, and three sisters, Bethel Frazier, Mabel Cornett and Jean Kinney.

Mr. Pigman was a veteran of World War II. He and enjoyed fishing and was an avid University of Kentucky fan.

Surviving are a son, Paul Rodney Pigman and wife Teresa of Whitesburg; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Williams and husband Chuck of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Dee Franklin of Erlanger; two grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Gilbert and husband Gary of Whitesburg, and Charles Chaz Williams and wife Jenny of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Margaret Rose Williams and Millicent Anne Williams; and five caregivers, Michelle, Connie, Sug, Tracey and Crystal.

Funeral services were held December 15 at First Baptist Church in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Thornton Cemetery.
