Yonts was city official




Funeral services for Sina Louise Yonts, 67, of Neon, were held September 20 in Neon. Burial was in the Yonts family cemetery in Neon.

A daughter of the late Harold Lloyd and Daisy Louise Pass Yonts, she died September 17.

She was retired from the Letcher Center High School, and was a member of the McRoberts Church of Christ.

She had served on the Fleming Neon City Council and as a water commissioner for the Fleming-Neon Water Board. She also coached Fleming-Neon Little League and the Fleming-Neon High School girls’ softball and volleyball teams.

Surviving are two brothers, Roy Yonts and wife Linda of Harrogate, Tenn., and Bug Yonts and wife Ladonne of Rutledge, Tenn.; three nephews, Ernie Yonts and Neil Yonts, both of Neon, and Tommy Yonts of Greeneville, Tenn.; seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Hunter Baker, Jordan Dunn, Isaiah Shoemaker, Noah Yonts, Jenna Yonts, Josiah Yonts, and Sydney Yonts; and ‘sister’ Cheryl B. Furby of Fleming-Neon.
