Sixth-grader Lauren Wash, 11, of Lawrenceburg, is the daughter of Ben and Adrienne Spangler Wash and granddaughter of Johnny and Lula Caudill of Whitesburg. She sang the National Anthem at Keeneland on Oct. 11. From 200 entries, 10 singers were chosen to perform. Lauren was the youngest singer chosen. She now has the chance to perform the National Anthem during the Prelude to the Cup Oct. 30. Her performance will be featured on the racetrack’s website, Keeneland.com, along with the nine others who sang. The singer who receives the most on-line votes will perform at Prelude to the Cup. Voting is taking place now.
